Lake George Steamboat Company

Today my husband and I went to Lake George, NY to go to a tow truck show and just get out to enjoy the beautiful day.  We sat at the south end of Lake George and enjoyed the view as boats from the Lake George Steamboat Company  departed and arrived from the short lake cruises.

Our new nephew

My sister and I used this carriage when we were babies in 1964 and in 1970.  I used it with my son 20 years ago in 1994 and now my sister is using it in 2014 for her son.  This is a 50 year old family heirloom.

                      My sister had this beautiful baby boy on April 26, 2014.  Our new nephew is adorable!

Frost on the Chicken Coop Window

We loved the pattern that the frost made on the chicken coop window one morning this past winter. Beautiful!

Vintage Camper Inspired Birdhouses

We have a new interest in vintage campers. My husband made a few birdhouses inspired by these vintage campers. We hung several in this tree in the backyard this spring. Birds are already making themselves at home. We had several more but I gave them to my sister. He made them and I painted them. It was a very fun project.

Vintage Go-Tag-A-Long Camper

I have recently become interested in vintage campers. In November we saw this one for sale for $100. We bought it and started fixing it right away. I will post "After" pictures when it is finished. Here are a few more "before" pictures.

Christmas Ornaments 2012

We add at least one new ornament to our tree every year. We try to make them when we can.  This year this is what we decided to make. We also gave them as gifts and listed them for sale on eBay and Etsy.  We sold a few sets! They are simple to make, with a little help from my husband and his power tools.  He cut a log into round pieces and drilled a hole.  I then used a rubber stamp to put on the image.  He put a clear finish on them and I added a ribbon. They are really fun and I love the rustic mountain feel.  We have also made some with pine trees and custom pictures.  I plan to make a few more for next year.

Adirondack Autumn Scenery

These are just a few of the pictures I took on our drive through the Adirondack Mountains this past weekend.

Adirondack Buffalo Company

Today we stopped at the Adirondack Buffalo Company in North Hudson, NY in the Adrondacks. The Buffalo were grazing in the fields and there were two deer and quite a few wild turkey farther out. We went in their beautiful shop that had crafts, rustic furniture, baked goods and, of course, buffalo meat.  We bought a pound of meat in the form of 3 buffalo burgers. We also bought a couple of their baked goods for a driving snack.
